“I read TO THE MOON as a feminist novel [...] It is a fun novel to read, but it is also a highly important and political novel about social-economic changes that are taking place all over the world." -- Mona Lang, editor at KiWi

“It is a thought provoking very well written book and I loved the feminist angle.“ -- Nathalie Doruijter, editor at De Geus

TO THE MOON is centered around three women in their thirties working at a snack food manufacturer with mediocre salary. Eun-sang, the eldest of the group, constantly seeks ways to earn extra money. Jisong, the youngest, is a hopeless romantic, spending her earnings on international trips to be with her Taiwanese boyfriend. The narrator, Dahae, endures an incompetent team leader while struggling with the financial burden of caring for her injured mother, all while trying to make her tiny apartment more comfortable.

Their lives come to a sharp turn at a lunch gathering, where Eun-sang excitedly reveals her discovery of Ethereum, a cryptocurrency she believes could rival Bitcoin. She invests all her savings, dreaming of quitting her job soon. Intrigued, Dahae opens an account, while Jisong remains skeptical. As the Ethereum price fluctuates, Dahae and Eun-sang’s friendship evolves, causing tension with Jisong. Despite threats of breaking up, Dahae and Eun-sang desperately want to share their newfound wealth with Jisong.

The phrase “To the Moon” symbolizes not just the fervor sweeping the cryptocurrency community but represents the trio's only path to their dream of wealth and freedom.
